Services > Allegheny Children's Initiative

Allegheny Children’s Initiative, Inc. (ACI) was established in 1993 by Allegheny County Children, Youth and Families and Mental Health/Mental Retardation Departments to provide case management services for children and adolescents who needed assistance beyond the traditional array of services.

ACI joined the CCI family in March of 2000. Since that time, ACI has expanded its continuum of services and supports and continues to provide interventions to children and families in their home, school, or other community settings.

Allegheny Children's Initiative, Inc. is committed to advocating for and coordinating community-based, family-oriented mental health services to children and adolescents for whom interventions and supports have been limited, not available, or unproductive.  Needs are met by strengthening and empowering the individual, family, caregiver and/or community support systems.  All participants are respected and recognized as equal partners in the decision-making process.

Allegheny Children's Initiative is licensed and credentialed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, and Community Care Behavioral Health Organization, respectively.

ACI also serves both adults and children through it's Outpatient Program.
