Exceptional Adventures is a supervised recreation/travel service made available to adults with special needs. Exceptional Adventures, one of the largest travel and tour services of its kind in the United States, offers a wide variety of travel opportunities designed to assist guests in participating in recreational and leisure experiences through community-integrated activities. The program offers a wide assortment of destinations and duration of tours to match the interests and abilities of the individual participants. More than 60 different tours, which include motor coach, flight, train, and cruise packages, are offered on an annual year-round basis.

Approximately 2000 people utilize this service annually. Funding is entirely through individual fees, although some participants are eligible for payment from their Individual Supports Coordination Units or from donations made to Exceptional Adventures.

Guests on the tours enjoy a well-planned, entertaining trip. All tours are all-inclusive; this provides guests with a worry-free vacation, knowing that all costs such as staffing, admissions, lodging, transportation, meals, and gratuities are included in the fee. The only thing left for the guests to do is have fun! Consequently, guests leave the tours with memories that last a lifetime.
